Kimito Kagurazaka (神楽坂 公人 Kagurazaka Kimito) is the main protagonist of the series. He is a commoner who is forced to enroll at Seikain Jogakkou after being kidnapped.
Appearance[]
Kimito, as said by girls, is a quite handsome young man and well built. He also is said to be a bit taller than an average teenage male. He has short, and rather messy black (with an ahoge), slightly spiky hair and black eyes. Kimito is usually seen with his school uniform; which consists of a brown blazer with a blue tie, grey pants and black shoes.
Personality[]
Kimito is known to be a kind person, he is calm and he often helps other people and is always ready to do so; like helping Aika Tenkuubashi to become popular. Although he is a little dense when it comes to romance and the girls' feelings around him, he is strong-minded and has a friendly disposition, which results in the girls becoming attracted to him. He also has a strong work ethic and takes everything in stride.
Background[]
It is said that Kimito met Aika Tenkuubashi when they were little and he showed her all the things the outside world had to offer. It is hinted many times in the anime and manga that there is more meaning to meeting Aika when he was little, but the details have yet to be revealed.
He also met Miyuki Kujou when they were younger, and for around one month Kimito and Miyuki's brother switched lives with each other. During his stay at the Kujou household, Kimito learned how to dance, how to fight, and more. He also met a lot of high class people. Miyuki also became very attached to her "older brother". It's also thanks to Kimito's past connection with the Kujou household that Reiko's mother recognized him. However, Kimito forgot all about Miyuki and those past days at the Kujou household due a terrible fever after changing back.
Kimito is an average student, who enjoys cooking and taking care of others, and he is given his nickname "Sebastian" during Middle School due to the latter.
He also has a childhood friend named Eri Hanae.
Plot[]
Kimito was living his life as a normal teenage boy when he was suddenly abducted and taken to Seikain Jogakkou, a secluded and highly secretive school for "Ojou-samas," or young women from wealthy and influential families. He is deemed an excellent fit for a new program at the school meant to help make the students transition to society less traumatizing, by introducing a commoner to the students.
He then meets Aika Tenkuubashi, a quite unpopular girl who keeps her distance from the other girls, Aika tries to kiss him; but fails. She wants Kimito's help to become popular. Kimito agrees, and starts living his life at Seikain Jogakkou and forms the Commoner Club along with Aika, with him being the first member.
Etymology[]
- The name Kimito means "public, duke, prince, lord, companion, subordinate" (公) (kimi) and "person" (人) (to), which literally means "public figure/public character" altogether.
- Kimito's surname Kagurazaka means "Shinto music" (神楽) (kagura) and "slope, hill" (坂) (saka/zaka).
Trivia[]
- In the special chapter released for the light novel, Reiko Arisugawa is shown married to Kimito (which makes her Reiko Kagurazaka) and they have a daughter named Yukari Kagurazaka (神楽坂 ゆかり Kagurazaka Yukari).
